Swimsuit season is already upon us, and for those who have found their perfect bathing suit-- congratulations! You have conquered the inevitable anxiety and frustration that comes from shopping for swimwear. For those who haven't found their swimsuit soulmate, do not fret!

Styles, textures, colors, brands... there are endless options and endless questions that come with them. Ahead, you'll find a few common body types, accompanied with tips for finding the perfect bathing suit made to fit and flatter your personal frame.

Pear Shape

You are more curvy at the hips and thighs, but a bit smaller on top. The key to the perfect swimsuit for pear shaped bodies is balancing proportions. Find a bathing suit that accentuates your delicate upper body, along with your arms, shoulders, and clavicle. Opt for a low cut, one-piece that still screams sexy with a revealing back. One of my favorites is:

Apple Shape

You tend to carry most of your weight in the middle, which means your waistline is your widest measurement. For this structure, high-waisted bottoms work wonders. This retro silhouette is suitable on a number of shapes, but for apple shaped bodies, this style will become your best friend quickly as it does a great job of concealing your tum.

Large Bust

You, my dear, were blessed with plenty of cleavage... ::rolls eyes in envy::

If you are well-endowed on top, then all you have to do is remember one cardinal rule: support is key. Choose tops with underwire or molded cups, and thicker straps for the most flattering looks. But if you're looking to minimize the focus on your chest rather than flaunt it-- avoid ruffles and embellishments.

Small Bust

You are a bit smaller on top. So girl, embrace what you can wear! The classic string bikini, for example, is perfect for this body type. A smaller chest requires less support, which gives you more choices and varieties when it comes to style. You can look for suits with minimal coverage or embellished detailing to create the illusion of a bustier chest. Triangle tops, scoop tops, and bandeaus are all perfect for this type!

With fewer curves, you're fairly straight throughout-- from shoulder to waist to hip. Play up your curves with styles that exaggerate your frame. Off the shoulders, racer-backs, high leg and side ties will all do the trick. Choose textures like mesh and gathering to further highlight your athletic limbs.

You are lucky enough to have curves in all the right places-- equipped with a full bust, hips, thighs, and butt. What more could you want? Show off those curvy frames! The key is to highlight your curves, but still provide enough support and coverage to keep things in place. Halter tops, underwire, lace up one pieces, high waisted bottoms... take your pick!

Performance & Sculpting

For those of you looking for more sculpting benefits from their swimwear, you may need to rely on quality and comfort as key guidelines when finding the perfect bathing suit. Whether you are a competitive swimmer or practicing water aerobics, it's important to make sure your swimsuit is comfortable and keeps you safe. Speedo is your go-to when looking for durable and lightweight suits with a variety of prints and patterns that will keep you looking stylishly fierce on land and underwater.
